Classroom Uses for Blogger

You can use any web tool that gives an "embed code". Just copy the code and paste it into the body of a new post and publish it.

Uses include:
  • PDF Documents Save any word document as a PDF and create an ebook for viewers to access. This can be used for spelling lists, school supplies, lists of helpful websites for parents, or lesson plans for administrators. Go to: www.issuu.com
  • Research: Limit the websites you want your students to search or include only websites you think are reliable by making a Custom Search Engine.  Go to: http://www.google.com/coop/cse/ 
  • Blog within a Blog (Blidget): Make a separate blog and link it to the main blog.  Types of blogs can include:  a classroom newspaper, parent resources and tips, warm-up questions, daily journal topics, reader responses, or  online debates.  Go to: http://www.widgetbox.com/make_blidget.jsp
  •  Google Forms: Allow viewers to complete information that will be organized in a spreadsheet.  Go to: docs.google.com
  •  Maps: Get directions to your school, find directions to school activities, explore the areas around the community, estimate distances, create new maps to show settings in stories or movies, track routes of famous explores, and to research states and countries.  Go to : maps.google.com
    • Powerpoint Upload a PowerPoint presentation to your blog.  A PowerPoint  can be used for warm-up activities, group slide shows, story boards, interactive reports, digital stories and to enhance content during instruction. Go to: www.slideshare.net
